FullStack Engineer (Media Industry)

THE POSITION

Reporting to Director of Digital Engineering and Data,  this role provides the right candidate with the opportunity to build engaging product experiences & the platforms necessary to support them. The focus for this role is to work across our entire stack, improving our existing product suite, implementing our digital strategy and building new, innovative products.

Nova is in an exciting period of digital transformation. As part of this transformation, we’re bringing all our software development in-house. We have an exciting product suite which ranges from mobile, websites, smart speaker applications and APIs all which scale to meet the high traffic demands of our audience.

Our entire stack is JavaScript. We use React Native for our mobile apps, Next.js for our websites and Node for our API services. We’re also heavily invested in the serverless ecosystem and run a variety of serverless services and micro-services.

You’ll be joining a small but talented team of engineers, each of whom work across a variety of disciplines. We value self-motivation, accountability, and innovation; and provide a flexible environment to work, which reflects and reinforces these values.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years Javascript (ES6+) experience
• Experience with Node
• Experience with HTML/CSS/CSS in JS
• Experience with React/Redux (we use Redux Toolkit)
• Experience with RDBMS (We use Postgres)
• Familiarity with Typescript desirable
• Familiarity with Serverless architecture desirable
• Familiarity with Docker desirable
• Understanding of React testing best practices
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
